It is my opinion that this paragraph is supposed to outline a laundry list of characteristics in an attempt to "pro and con" our way into a relationship. These lists are typically comprised of run of the mill personality traits that describe most of the lead characters in modern day movies, or falsified resumes in a poor economy. This paragraph belittles the readers' intelligence, lowering them to no more than the nameless faceless mass of Society. In it, the authors' fail themselves. To be honest, to allow another person, a stranger, to see past our defenses is seen not as courageous but as a weakness. This paragraph of hobbies, goals, and tastes of music is no more personal than a glance at a passerby on the street.

Perhaps that is the point. To dilute the experience to that of catching someone's eye. My grandparents met on the street, walking through their home town the met eyes for the first time and fell in love. The love our grandparents and modern chick flicks propose as true and that, deep down, we are all searching for.

So let's play along both in-spite of the concept and because of it.

My favorite music varies but tends to play during Quentin Tarantino movies. My hobbies change with the season, right now painting and reading seem to be taking the lead.
